Yeah, I thought Tampa Bay would be better too.

Nah, Tampa stinks, I knew they'd have bigtime goaltending problems heading into the season.

With Buffalo having 25 wins vs. the Caps' 26, and both teams with 57 points: No matter where you stand on getting the 3rd seed for leading a weak division, the top 8 in the East are legit.

At least for now.

Man is Friday going to be a big game or what.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but take a quick look at the conference standings and make a note of who the Caps would play in the first round of the playoffs if the season ended today...

I missed it before, but man is it nice to see the "Standings" and "Things that are supersweet" tags next to each other.

Biff, not raining on any parades. I have my doubts that the Caps winning more than losing will cease now. They should move up steadily.

Second straight game with a bogus goalie interference penalty.

Pluses: Three goals by a line not featuring Alex Ovechkin. Ollie played well. Flyers fans booed their team (wait, that should go under, "duh").

Minuses: Erskine lumbers to the penalty containment area because he can't keep up with faster forwards, twice. Neutral zone trapping in last six minutes of the game yields two goals.

I'll take the Caps right now in any seven game series against any of the top five teams in the East. Except Montreal.

until there is at least a 6 point spread between the us and #2 in the division, i refuse to get too excited.

(awesome, nonetheless)

I can't help but think we'll drift in and out of first a few times between now and April, but I think in the end, we'll get it done. Whenever Captain Clark returns, along with Pothier, we'll be even better.

not convinced on Clark being the answer, although i want to be. even when he was healthy, at the beginning of the season, he was taking really bad penalties and hurting the team.
