Roenick Retires

While you were out today trying to see how many hot dogs you could eat in 12 minutes, Jeremy Roenick finally called it quits. Though I've certainly been no big fan of his, I thought it important to honor one of the top U.S.-born players of all-time, especially on this most patriotic of holidays.

Regardless of what he did on the ice or said off of it, this is how I hope to always remember the one and only J.R. (language NSFW):

LOL... that's great. Anyway, I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you, when you write new blog posts, go over to BeTheRef.com and post a link to your story, and hopefully get a few extra readers for your blog. Have a great week and keep up the good work!

I actually owned that game and never knew you could make guys' heads bleed (being too young to see R-rated movies, I hadn't seen Swingers at the time).

While he certainly has gone downhill over the past few seasons, JR still go down as one of my personal, all-time favs. i was there the night he scored his 50th goal for the second season in a row in Chicago and he did help me win plenty of video games in college. For this, he shall be missed.

And that's pretty much where I got my 'Superfan #99' moniker from. Love that movie, and that scene.

Mr. Roenick,

Please suck it up for the beginning of one more season to get yourself to 500.

We care,
