I like everything about Chris Clark.

Well, except for his propensity to ignore my phone calls...

Quote of the season, really.

I think Clark should wear the chin&mouth protector/Darth Vader mask all season...

...and they should play the Star Wars Empire music everytime he steps on the ice.

just an idea.

He has really taken to the leadership role. Its like - Follow me or I'll kick your butt.

He didn't fight while he was wearing that jaw protector right? Because that would have been downright stupid.

And I don't really recall him being in a lot of fights. A lot of scrums, facewashes, etc. But not a lot of fights.

According to HockeyFights.com, 4 fights 2005-2006, two fights this past year. 8 fights in 2003-2004.

Between Olie, CC, and AO's propensity for using iPods as projectiles, this team has no leadership issues. That should be good for the young guys... and if A. Semin can't shape up in this environment, he never will.

He jumped into the fray against Atlanta only to have Ilya Kovalchuk grab on to his jaw protector. Clark was still swinging though. I remember thinking that is one tough guy.

That quote says it all, not only to the rest of the team and the fans but to the rest of the league. Clarkie is doing what a good captain should do. He's sticking his neck out and saying "There are no more excuses. We're going to be good from here on out." How many days to training camp?

Right you are, Joe. Here's Hanlon's quote about the exchange that led to him calling in the cavalry to restore order:

"It was a 4-2 hockey game and someone, a 21-year-old kid with a cut mouth [Green], gets his head knocked off with a high hit and one of their players [Ilya Kovalchuk] is grabbing our captain [Chris Clark], grabbing his cage and shaking it," Hanlon said. "What the heck are they supposed to do?"

Oh, and to answer your question (though I'm sure it was rhetorical), b.orr4, 56 days (or just under 5 million seconds).

Amen!
2) For the first time since his arrival Hanlon(and everyone else for that matter) will be under pressure to win!

There is, perhaps, something to be said for cutting off the number of commenters on a single post to nine.

That guy is such a downer. :(

yea he is, him and puckguru are going for the biggest DB of the year award. they might be the same person but tyler doesnt use 'caps lock' every other word.

Oh come on. Someone thinks it's worthwhile posting the following comment:

Amen!

That mindless non-contribution is totally worth ridiculing.

I disagree - it's someone joining in the collective positive vibe and participating. There's nothing wrong with that.

People can add to the community without contributing substantively (and his/their second point is a substantive one anyway).

ZING! actually a good point there is pressure to win now for really the first time(the beginning of last year was a pleasant surprise). GO CAPS!
