Where Have You Gone, Tommy Salo?

Unfortunately for Glen Hanlon and Belarus, Mikael Tellqvist is no Tommy Salo.

Tellqvist didn't waste any saves today in Sweden's 6-5 win over Belarus (Nicklas Backstrom had a goal and a helper and led all Swedish forwards in ice time), and by virtue of the near-upset, provided sports shows and blogs the opportunity to show, yet again, one of the great moments in Olympic hockey history:

That cracks me up every time.

And how bout those Flyers? ;)

Should make the Caps feel better about who they went out to.

Further proof, too, that Boudreau is a better coach than Carbo. :)

I should say Ben, I was rooting for the Habs as the only Canadian team left, and because I was still pouting. Although I still think Briere should be a Penguin (a diving bird)I was won over by Biron and the young ones. I said many posts ago that I thought a Pens/Flyers series would be fun to watch. Now I have a team to root for.

The regular season makes me think you might do this, and the last two games between Pens and Rangers makes me think they're starting to show cracks. Watch out for Detroit, though.

Wasn't Salo the goalie that made the awesome save on Paul Kariya in the 94 olympics in the shootout? Then Forsberg won the gold on the following shot?

Actually the save by salo was after forsberg übergoal... they won the gold on the save :D
