Pokulok was in camp? Really?

Glad to see Joudrey staying for now although more cuts can happen at any time. IMO, based on his performance in camp the days I have seen, I thought he had earned a preseason game.

So some of the guys still in camp: Matthieu Perreault, Andrew Gordon, Andrew Joudrey, Tyler Sloan, Josh Godfrey, plus Machesney and Varlamov

and Grant McNeill sticks around for now.

Also: Chris Bourque lingers.

@ Tyler: Bourque lingers b/c they need to see if he can play center so they can trade Nylander.

Just kidding.

Sorta.

I don't think it's any surprise that Bourque is still in camp or some of the others, but regardless my list wasn't meant to be exhustive.

I do wonder the reason why Aucoin didn't dress in either of the first 2 games.

I believe of the players still in camp that Joudrey and Aucoin are the two that haven't played in either of the first 2 preseason games. (well, other than Backstrom, injured, and Fedorov)

@jp--you really think they'd trade Nylander at this point? Hard for me to believe they'd risk going into the season with Bourque getting significant minutes?

JP said...

@ AJD: I think anything's possible (though I don't necessarily believe that Bourque would be the only option to inherit those minutes).

@JP: OK, I can get on board with anything being possible.

Do you see a credible rationale for trading Nylander? Salary Cap relief? Add an experienced D? Gabby just don't like him?

JP said...

@ AJD: I could see any and all of the above as credible reasons to move him (though I again stress that I believe the factors on the "don't move him" side outweigh these reasons, and I have no real insight into how he and Gabby get along).

Now yer talkin'! Myself, I'm hoping they don't trade him. 'Course, if he gets injured again, I'll be seriously bitter...

Nylander for Penner. (Heh.)

on the additional cuts, not shocking, but as noted, I was hoping Joudrey would play one preseason game first, getting the same opportunity as many of the other prospects, oh well
