The World's Youngest Caps Fan

It's with great pride that I'd like to introduce you all to the world's youngest (I think) Caps fan, Joseph Wesley Press, who was born yesterday and already cries less than Sidney Crosby.

Joey waited until Alex Semin won Monday night's game, but less than a half-hour later decided it was time for him to come on out to see for himself whether or not this Caps team is for real, and the wife and I were on our way to the hospital for the delivery of our first-born.

As you may have noticed, posting around here has been and will continue to be light for a few days. But if you guys keep holding up your end of the bargain by keeping the conversation movin', I'll be back soon enough and things will be back to normal... on the blog, that is.

May he skate like Mike Green, light the lamp like Ovey, and slay the ladies like Brooksie.

Congrats, JP.

You sir are awesome!

Will JP disown his own child if he becomes a Sidney fan or would he have to be a Jagr afficionado to make Pop that angry?

Congrats!

But...wondering why you named him after a washed up goalie and a Canes' defenseman?

Aw, congrats!
Nice use of the Caps scarf!

If JP's kid becomes a Jagr fan, then I'm calling social services.

Congrats!

You should talk to Gustaffson over at OFB for parenting advice. He seems to be doing it right (6th post).

Would you like a 13-year deal, young man?

CONGRATULATIONS!
Have you gotten his first pair of akates picked out yet?

He's got good timing, that's for sure! (...and good fashion sense too. ;) ) My 2nd was kind enough to wait until just after the season was over last April, but she's been trouble ever since. lol

Bundle him up and start bringing him out after a few weeks. I bring my son (now 3yo) to games with me, and he already knows to stand and cheer for goals. He also runs around the house at home saying, "Doot doot doot! Let's go Caps!" Hehe. I'm so proud. You will be too. You'll never know greater love than your children.

Congrats to Mom and Dad. Wonderful news. Having expanded our family in mid-November, I know what you're going through.

The littlest one in our family went to his first game at 22 days and there's a season ticket holder family in our section who brought their son to his first game at 11 days. So no pressure on you! ;-)

Glad everyone is doing well and wishes of continued good health to all.

I raise my beer to thee.

Congratulations JP!! May his fondest Cap Cup dreams come true! Um...not before ours of course...if it's not too much to ask.

JP,
My only parenting tip but a good one to keep in mind: 2 year olds can be trained to yell "you gotta make that save, Olie." I know this from firstand experience.

1)Congrats!
2) To put it in perspective. He will be entering high school when AO's contract runs out! Take it from some who know, it goes fast man, enjoy every minute! Even the ones that don't seem so enjoyable at the time. ; )
