Least Surprising Stat Of The Day

My dad and I have a running dialogue (actually it's more of a soliloquy with him doing the ranting) about how Olie Kolzig has strikingly few shutouts for the number of games he's played in the NHL (only 33 blank sheets in 631 career starts) and how he often gets close only to see the opponent light the lamp with an often-meaningless late goal.

Well, it turns out that Kolzig actually owns the NHL record for most shutouts lost in the last two minutes of regulation. According to the Elias Sports Bureau:
[Yesterday] was the 10th time that [Dominik] Hasek lost a shutout bid in the final two minutes of the third period, tying an all-time NHL record. The other goaltenders with 10 are Ed Belfour, Olaf Kolzig, Patrick Roy and John Vanbiesbrouck.
Impressive company, sure, but I'd rather see him higher up on this list with those guys, wouldn't you?
