Someone needs to get fired over the intro (hockey in makeup)and the photos. I had the slight taste of vomit in my mouth after the game. We will be the laughing stock of the NHL once this crap hit the internet.
Compared to how terrible the intro could have turned out, I actually thought it wasn't at all bad. I don't know how I feel about the ultra-euro threads, (though they kind of reminded me of Hugh Jackman in X-Men) but aside from that...
It doesn't beat the MIB-esque intro we had for 05/06. If there's one thing we absolutely must get rid of though, it's the GOD AWFUL "unleash the fury" bit. I understand Hockey is a Canadian sport, but I cannot tolerate the sight of Tom Green more than once or twice in a calendar year. Jesus.
As long as they're playing hot, they can look as hot as they want. I'll take the glamour shots any way I can get 'em... and I'm a die-hard feminist. Hence, my double-standard disgust over the Red Rockers. Rhymes with...?
Personally, I think the new shots - apart from Ovechkin's, which - whoever decided to put him in THAT SHIRT needs to have their eyes checked - looked great!
I think the intro was hillarious - loads of fun, let-your-hair-down and rock out fun, and I liked it. As for "Unleash the Fury"... that seems to really get the crowd going - in unison, all at once - and it's got to be just THUNDEROUS on the ice. I say keep it, until the players are sick of it and quit scoring within a minute of its being played!
I think the intro works, as long as we win. A high-profile, low-performing team would be a disaster. Other teams' fans can laugh as long as we kick their teams' asses.
Of course, this video will one day make its way into the "Skeletons from the Closet" feature on the Rink, no doubt, and we'll all someday have a good chuckle over it.

Being of the female persuasion, I don't find the new intro and player photos hard on the eyes at all
i have to agree with anonymous. perhaps they are trying to get more ladies to come to the games?
That picture could definitely help... A better GAA would make him irresistable, though.

Unleash the Fury is awesome, I'm glad they kept it. New intro... not so much.
current puck bunny status: drooling...

Mind if I cross-post that on my blog, with credit here?

Go nuts, IRtR.
Well, it's still much better than the one in this blog post.
