Caps' prospect Stefan Della Rovere continued his strong season - both on the scoresheet and in the leadership department - for the Barrie last night, as Captain Colt notched a Gordie Howe Hat Trick (and an extra fight for good measure) and was plus-2 in a 5-2 loss to Sarnia.
Delly's first fight came halfway through the first period, and apparently sent Daniel Lombardi to the hospital:
Looking to exact some measure of revenge on behalf of his injured teammate, Sting captain (and Islander property) Matt Martin challenged the Colts captain at the outset of the second period, but Delly declined... until Martin took a run at one of his teammates:
Question: Are we all paying more attention to the Caps' prospects now because the internet enables it (or, more to the point, because lower-level leagues are now accessible via things like YouTube, etc.), or are we paying more attention because the Caps' prospect pool is the deepest it's been in years?
I saw Della Rovere in Rookie Camp and said to myself, "this guy is a total pest!" He's not very tall, but he's scrappy and In-your-face w/o being Avery-noxious. We could use a pest!

tyler, I think it's both. No one would be watching if there wasn't something actually worth seeing there.
JP, thanks for the coverage of the young guys in the system. I'm drooling over several of the prospects making it up to the club in the few years.
Probably a combination of both.
Guys like Delly are interesting to follow, and the intertubes make doing so much easier.
Holy crap, I would not like to fight him.
In a related story, Anton Gustafsson appears to have played in five games without scoring a point.

He seems Huntery. I like Huntery.
I'm with JP on this one...I like this kid's fire.
Tyler, I've been following the Caps for a long time and I have never seen this much depth on our farm, so for me it's the latter.
Cant wait to see this kid in a Caps jersey
