Sometimes Karma's A Female Dog

For more schadenfreudian goodness, make sure to stop by The 700 Level, and if mainstream media whining is more your thing, the Philadelphia Daily News has you covered.

Yeah I saw the highlights last night. The Flyers blew 2-0 and 3-2 leads (last with 29 seconds in the game). And they were really sloppy with the rebounds on the OT goal, it looked like the guy got 3 whacks at it. Why couldn't they play that sloppy against the Caps? :D

That game almost made me forget how miserable I was after Tuesday night. How ironic that the Flyers should be on the wrong side of a questionable goal (Kovalev's quasi-high stick) and a questionable penalty. Karma's not a bitch, she's an avenging angel who's attempting to even the ledger. Unfortunately, she got on the scene a couple of days late.

Good to see karma got some "vengance now" last night, eh? The tears of Flyer fans were exactly what I needed to wash down my morning scone.

I couldn't agree with you more JP

Unless it happens to them in a freaking Game 7, then I'm not satisfied. It does make me smile though.

That just made my day.

Ah, that felt good. And they're so eloquent about their anger. I highly encourage people to read the comments (except if there are young children around). Threatening to put hits out on the refs, threatening to have Mike Richards rampage all over Montreal, barely disguised anti-francophone hatred -- and of course, the obligatory "look how bad these other fans are, somebody actually threw a beer on one of our players" comment to make the animals at Wachovia center seem less, well, animal-like.

You made me smile for the first time since Tuesday night.

Mmm...sweet, bitter tears. So nourishing.

My favorite comment on philly.com(and I feel dirty just for going over there), is this one:

"Horrible. You would figure since our team, the organization, the fans and the city do so much for the NHL they might throw THE FLYERS a bone every now and then but instead are constantly screwing them. I felt violated watching this game; all we could do is sit back and watch the refs force over time. Horrible."

You got thrown a bone in Game 7, and last night you got boned. Sweet.

For those who don't like to read, I submit this.

i watched the game last night, and i lolllllll'd

Ah yes, when the shoe is on the other foot, I just get the popcorn, sit back to watch, and warm myself in the satisfying schadenfreude glow. Besides believing that Montreal is just a better team, it sure is pleasant to watch Philadelphia's sense of entitlement get squished like a bug.

Oh, and our bloggers are better than their bloggers.

I hate to revel in other people's pain, except I don't. I love it. Especially when they are from PA.

hahahahaha. I feel bad for you, Philly. not. hahaha no really i am. but i'm not. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.

Look, if you can't take pleasure in someone else's pain, whose pain are you going to take pleasure in?

Hahaha! Love it. So the same pogues who were telling Caps fans to just shut-the-hell-up about bad officiating in game 7 are now whining about game 1 with the Habs. Pot-Kettle-Black. Cry me a river Flyer fans.

Throwing beer on players in the penalty box is inexcusable, but I'll be damned if I'm going to listen to a bunch of Flyers fans complain about it.

If I had to have a favorite Flyer it would be Richards, and I remarked at the time of the call that I'd wish the penalty had been a stick infraction on Briere; THAT would have been much more satisfying. There was just no way the Habs were not going to score- fate is not that cruel a mistress.

What really impresses me are the comments at the 700 level that are all in caps. JP, you'd never let that shit stay on this board would you? Yeah, it's a shame those poor Flyer fans are always being called classless.

As you guys know, I try to keep my censorship to the absolute bare minimum, but I think an all Caps (err, caps) rant would probably get canned.

I know we're not supposed to take pleasure in other's suffering. But still...

Of course, I'll wait until someone from Montreal runs Biron with no call from the refs and that leads to a game-winning or -tying goal before my joy will be complete.

LOL.

I expected the Flyers to get blown out of Game 1 due to fatigue, so I can't be too pissed with how things worked out.

Just bad luck.

Bad luck in Round 2, that is ;)

Anonymous said...

Montreal didn't get much more rest than Philly. Claiming fatigue is an excuse and nothing more.

Somehow I knew this would happen. The same idiots telling us to shut up come back and cry bloody murder. Suck it up, douchebags.

Salmon said...

We split.

Have to be happy with that. Let's go up 3-1 again, shall we?

Its ok JP, I would be a sook to if my team got put out in the first round.

Is this a Caps blog, or a Flyers bashing blog?

Anonymous said...

Better question: why are Flyers trolls still hanging around?

Anonymous said...

Way to hide behind the anonymous name. Thats not a better question either, because if the Flyers are a topic on this blog, then it would be logic for their fans to read right? Dumbass.

Anonymous said...

"Hiding behind" anonymous... calling yourself Jack... I fail to see any difference, but if it makes me more of a man, I'll go with "Jack's Raging Bile Duct." Is that better? Would you prefer I go with Matt? Phil? Pelle?

Anonymous said...

Or your real name like me. But I see you never said anything about my arguement on the question, you must realize your an idiot and that i was right.

Anonymous said...

"arguement"

"your" an idiot

Touché, Jack. Touché.
