Question. Better Game 1 attire - white authentic Caps jersey or red UMD sweatshirt?

You said it soulie!

I don't know why I even bothered coming to work today. I've been totally useless. I'm heading for the phone booth in about 15 minutes.

LETS GO CAPS!

@JP

I ditched my white Kolzig jersey for the game and will be wearing my red "Caps" t-shirt. Worn it to both the Carolina and FLA games last week. It's now officially my good luck shirt until they lose. It does get washed after every game though.

jp,
Go with the red, unless superstition dictates otherwise.

Abhinav said...

Definitely red, JP.

Hey, it's not for me. It's for a, uh, friend.

I bought white; the correct home jersey, and I am wearing it with pride. LETS GO CAPS!!!

Mike Green is having an epically bad game.

Except for that last goal!
haha

I was wearing my red Caps shirt that is bad luck when I wear it to games, and I just changed it in between periods, and Greenie got the goal. I'm thinking I'm going to burn my Caps shirt!

Hey, jp, first time in, believe it or not. Seen ya over at bfloblog. I bet Philly's pissed about that 4th goal...

Too bad. :)

Oh boy. AO just set DC on fire.

Just an incredible individual effort on the winner.

A prediction: Jaroslav Modry sees the ice much less in Game 2.

What can I say? Green values my opinion.

@dmg
"Mike Green is having an epically bad game."

You were saying? ;)

Got home...put on the cap...4-4. Put on the OV jersey...5-4. Drank a Trader Joes' Hofbrau Bock. Game.

So my next two months are pretty routine.

Celebrating tonight! That game was SWEET!

A happy ulcer now lives in my gut.

Front row at home tonight.

Best seats in the house.

this was inspired by my mom (who wanted to leave after the 2nd period):

Nice Pensblog tribute, Sonia.

Btw, thoughts and prayers to Thoreson. That did NOT look good (and it doesn't sound good either - see sidebar).

Abhinav said...

Yikes about Thoresen (sp?).

Yikes.

Holy Christ.

And I don't know if that's for the game or for Thoreson. Jesus, that's bad.

I have never been to a sporting event that nuts. I saw my beloved Sox in the World Series in October, and this is better.

Just got back from the game and all I can say is

GGGGRRREEEENNNNIIIIEEEEE!!!!!!

and

OOOOVVVVVIIIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Man, that was awesome.

Flyers fans can bitch all they want, but the tables turned, same thing would've happened. They wouldn't have stopped anything. We've had times where BLOOD didn't even cause a stop.
I watched the game, and I saw the shot, and it looked to me like it his his forearm, so I can totally understand not blowing it dead, then. I mean, if it hits his forearm, and he's hurt like that, it could mean a broken bone or something, but nothing very health-threatening.

Oh well, can't do anything about it now.

I laughed really hard when reading DMG's second post.

And that game winner is the stuff legends are made of. Mesmerizing.
Fuckin' A. I eagerly await game 2.

First of all, H.S., I can't believe we won that! If people start complaining about that goal where the guy was down on the ice, fine. Bottom line is - if you want to block the shot, you suffer the consequences, one of which could be you incapacitate yourself. You don't get as free pass and a whistle in the offensive zone unless a jugular is severed.

P.S. - my heart does go out to Thoresen if he is losing a ball. But play doesn't stop.

First, Soulie: Sect 418, row c, seat 5. Aren't you in the same row as Trevor "it's a cloak, not a cape" Superfan?

Secondly: I don't wear face paint, I don't beat on glass and I don't like the hockey song. I wore my red Mike Green jersey, and something new. At 50 years old I got my very first mohawk hair cut. Not for tickets, but because I'm a crazy Caps fan. And last night made me even crazier.
