"Lepisto, who is listed at 6-foot-1 and 176 pounds, was paired with Schultz and acquitted himself well. He logged 14:16 of ice time and displayed the smooth skating and ability to make quality outlet passes that has made the organization high on the offensive-minded rearguard."

This quote is from Corey. Any other comments on Sami? Is he here to stay? Is he more useful than Erskine? Is it too early to tell? Reports please.

Tremendous picture, JP/KB. Kolzig has been beaten up a lot in this space, but he certainly deserves credit for what he did yesterday.

And yeah, he did get credit from Bolt Bench Boss John "the Tortoise" Tortorella: "Kolzig gets credit the whole game," Lightning coach John Tortorella said. "He's the difference." (quoted in the TSN report)

@Brunella,
I was at the game last night sitting on the blueline that we attacked twice and Lepisto right in front of me for two periods. He looked a little surprised that opposing forwards got to him so quickly on the PP and started by looking a little rushed. As the game wore on though he made some great plays. He made a slap pass in third to the slot for a deflection which almost scored. He lost the zone once toward the end and had two Bolts on him where he calmly spun the puck back to Schultz who already to redline.

From a mobility standpoint, he's an immediate upgrade to Eminger but Erskine is still much tougher. Sami looked pretty small when he pinched and ran into guys like Tarnasky and Gratton.

All in all, I think he's a keeper.

Boudreau had this to say about Lepisto:

“He didn’t seemed fazed at all. He was making great plays and he played within himself.”

BTW, JP, fantastic post.

Great pic...gave me a good laugh.

Quality picture...Kolzig was big last night. I'm okay with Lepisto taking over Eminger's spot.

I'd rather have him in Hershey than the press box... ;)

Man, I've missed Olie.

Good to have him back these last four or five games.

I'd rather have Lepisto take Erskine's spot than Eminger's...

Was there a mistake in the game summary, or did Green really play 31 minutes+ last nigt?

1.) I apologize to Olie. He has singlehandedly won several games in the past week for us. I thought he was done - looks like he just needs to be well rested (duh) and BB might've figured out the formula.

2.) Semin, why can't you play like that every game?

3.) Eminger is god awful. Embarassing.

Thnaks, Melvisdog, for your man-on-the-spot Lepisto report!!! Okay, so: an upgrade from Eminger (that poor SOB, who has been forced to play so panic-stricken -- I feel sorry for him) but not as tough as Erskine. Well, hmm. When Poti comes back from his bruise, who sits? I like this all the more, knowing there is an Alzner still to come. And a Pokulok! ((((contented sigh)))) Wish we were as fat with baby goalies.

Hahahaha. Defenders are afraid of him! He had them all frozen up on that one play. No one knows what kind of spinarama move he's going to come up with, so opposition players just stand around stock still, and stare at him. He had an excellent game. He needs to keep it comin', tho.

Much as I love our young 'uns, this
Young Guns poster
is embarrassing.

Clearly everyone but Mikey has significant stylist issues. Forget the glasses and Semin is John
Denver
. Backstrom looks like he just came off a camping trip in the wilderness, far from a shower and shampoo. And Ovechkin . . . well, I suppose I'm used to his signature caveman look.

Still, for a promotional poster you'd think they'd spruce them up just a tad. What, no one had a comb?
