Happy '08, everyone.
08... for some reason that number sticks out in my mind as being significant.
Hopefully 08 and his teammates give us plenty to cheer about in this new year, and it all starts today against the Sens. Here's to a happy 08 - on and off the ice.
Why the Senators Will Win:
"The Sens will beat the Capitals because paper beats rock.Elsewhere 'Round the Rinks:
The Sens are paper! Flammable, thin and agile, with a strong defensive core and good goaltending... just like any good paper.
The Capitals are rock. Unmoving and heavy. Forced during the cretacious period. Like any rock, the Capitals depend on one source of offence and have a slow goaltender from Germany!
Wow. That made no sense... oh well, I stand by the logic!" - Sens Army
"Why the Sens will win: Well, after Saturday, I think it's safe to say that we've finally clued into the fact that that Russian kid is pretty good and perhaps merits a wee bit more attention. Take away 40% of the Caps goal production and we win (seriously, WE have a problem with secondary scoring? Yikes!). We're still the Beasts of the East folks. You would all do well to remember that." - Five for Smiting
"They're going to play guilty because what happened last time. I get the feeling Paddock and Alfie and Co. will make sure it's not happening again." - Scarlett Ice
Karl Alzner: Fashionista.... The Bears scored eight seconds (there's that number again) into last night's game.... EMac will be live-blogging the Winter Classic this afternoon over at FanHouse, so be sure to stop by and check it out.

I picked a bad game to skip...
So did Marty Gerber.
JP,
I very humbly apologize for asking you to plug the Sydney Crosby Winter Classic Lovefest. DISGUSTING. Weren't the Sabres the HOME TEAM? HELLO. You'd have never known there was another team playing and the entire NHL network pregame special was Crosby this, Crosby that, Crosby grew a nose hair today let's rejoice, blah blah blah. SHAMELESS. I actually felt bad for the people of Buffalo, being overshadowed by the Second Coming. RIDICULOUS. Then he has to win it in the SO. BLECH.
Yeah, I thought the Sid love was a bit over the top, but he is the most marketable player in the game today (at very least in that game yesterday), and he was the best skater on the ice during the game. Really, what'd you expect?
Given Alzer's taste in fashion, skulls and game-worn jerseys, possible secret Santa gift next year?
