As you may not know, Francois Bouchard has been named the QMJHL's Offensive Player of the Month for December. From the Q's release:
The offensive player of the month award goes to François Bouchard of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. In eleven games, the 19-year-old right winger scored seven goals, including five game-winners and two on penalty killing, and added fifteen assists for a total of 22 points in eleven games – a spectacular average of two points per game. Moreover, Bouchard’s excellent offensive production played and important part in 58% (22/38) of his team’s goals and secured a +4 rating that led the Drakkar to a 7-3-0-1 winning record in December. Bouchard, a 2nd round pick of the Washington Capitals in 2006, was the winner of last season Jean Béliveau Trophy (scoring title) and named on the QMJHL 2nd ALL-STAR TEAM. He is actually sixth in the “Q” in scoring with 53 points in 38 games.Too bad the NHL doesn't have a Coach of the Month award as well - I've got a pretty good idea who would most likely have gotten December's.
