Yeah, jp, that's exactly the point that PP makes: "8:24 . . . . That was the least amount of time on ice spent at even strength for a Capital tonight…it belongs to Alexander Semin (yes, even Donald Brashear had more). Part of that is likely that the Caps were protecting a one-goal lead in the third period, but Semin did not skate a shift in the last 10:41 and had only three shifts in the third period. Injury?...or message? We’ll see."
Johnson allowed two soft goals last night; Kolzig two soft ones the night before (maybe three, but...), so I don't think he necessarily earned himself another start.
joe, i wonder the same thing....surely eminger's talent plus potential would be useful to an organ-eye-zation as a top 6 defenseman, right?
obviously the decision makers for this team feel differently.
since it's been through two coaches something tells me the caps have a rift with eminger that lasts through upper management....maybe he'll get traded at the deadline and have a fresh start at making a career in the NHL.

1) Anyone catch former Cap Chris Simon's latest incident? Hard to find an excuse for him here. Sure it was super pest Jarkko Rutuu, but there is NEVER an excuse to b be stomping another player with your skates! 2) On our blog we reccomended that the Islanders release him even before the NHL gives its decision as we feel the play was one of selfishness, to say nothing of the stupidity.

I can't believe Kuba only got 4 minutes for that two hand across OV's face! You can bet if that had been Crosby he would have gotten at least a major!
If that had been Crosby, Kuba would have been deported.
