Thanksgiving Open Thread

Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does. Such has been the story of the last month or so for the Caps, and I know it has taken a toll on all of us.

But it's just a game. Take today to recognize what really matters in your life, and we'll see you back here on Friday. Happy holiday to all.

I'm lacing my seitan turkey with anti-depressants right now. Anyone else want some?

It might be "just a game" to the kids on a rink, but its big business when it comes to the NHL and they charge big prices.

These guys are millionaires and their income comes from the fans. Its not just a game on this level.

Quite simply, the fans have been sold a bill of goods and they are not getting their money's worth.

Awful. Awful awful awful awful awful.

The team quit on Hanlon last night, sometime after the 2nd goal. You could see it in the team.

Same in the 3rd. That power play where Backstrom just held the puck, only to throw it away, was indicative of how the Caps are playing right now.

Scared, nervous, and without confidence.

Outstanding graphic. I may indeed have to borrow this.

More effort by the Caps would help though. They showed no signs of urgency last night. Atlanta simply wanted it more, as most teams who play the Capitals tend to do this season.

I'm with mudd in the respect that fan's aren't getting their money's worth. But then again, if fans were sold on Poti, Kozlov and Nylander being playoff saviors then they need to be, well, better buyers.

Briere and Timonen look to have Philly rolling along just fine. And thus the difference between A-listers and B-listers....

The comments from Waddell, Holik and Kovalchuk are rather telling, to put it mildly.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Hell, we've talked about everything all over the Caps Internet community. What more can be said that already hasn't been said?

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Be safe.

Any one want to help me gain some liquid courage for this afternoon...I have to go eat with my future in-laws.
They make NJ hockey look exciting.

What am I thankful for? That my VCR screwed up and didn't record the game last night. Blessing in disguise
