We Got The Motz

The Caps have signed free agent right wing Joe Motzko to a two-year deal. While Motzko's signing is a "depth signing" and he can be expected to spend most of the season in Hershey, he does have something few other Caps have - Stanley Cup Finals experience (four shifts, baby!).

TSN.ca scouts Motzko as follows:

Assets - Has been an accomplished point producer at the AHL level. Displays enough feistiness and grit to play a bottom-six forward role in the NHL.

Flaws - Is somewhat undersized for the big league and doesn't own the hands of a natural sniper. Lacks a particular niche for the NHL game.

Career potential - Reserve winger.

sounds like if things go right we wont ever have to see him in a caps sweater. he does have the whole 'stanley cup' thing though.

That's four more shifts that you or I have or will ever log in the Stanley Cup finals, just to put things into perspective.

true, but whats your point? my point is that if his career potential is a fill-in fourth line winger i hope we never see him on the ice because that means someone got hurt, or the team just sucks. i think the team is past the 'beech's' and 'novotny's' of the world
