Buried in this article on Caps' goaltending prospect Michal Neuvirth (he wants to play in Hershey this coming season, btw), is the following: "Washington's training camp is scheduled to begin Sept. 13, when players report. The first on-ice sessions are slated for Sept. 14." Therefore, the countdown (but not The Final Countdown) is officially on...

Curse you, Japers! I was just thinking that it wasn't that long until I got to see hockey again and now I see it in black and white!

I guess I will just have to watch Rangers Fan Favorites on Directv....*shudder*

I can understand Neuvirth's case: I thought he was more impressive than Varlamov. (I saw Friday and Saturday's scrimmages.) But where do you put him? Bit of a back-up and backstop: How easily we forget that Cassivi is just 22 himself.
