Sochi To Host 2014 Winter Olympics

Sochi, Russia (which, believe it or not, is a sister city to Long Beach, CA) has been awarded the 2014 Winter Olympics.

In case you're wondering, Alex Ovechkin will be 28 years old when those Olympics come to his home country (I'm not sure how old the OFB guys will be, but hopefully they'll make a return visit to Mother Russia to cover the Games).

HA! We'll all be well into our 40's. Thanks for depressing me.

It's Empty Maybe's and my turn next!

Only in your 40's? Geez, you guys are so much younger than you looked in your pictures. (Only kidding). I hope the same bunch of guys who reported on the games in Moscow just a few short months ago will be the same bunch of guys who report the Olympics in Sochi. I'll have to root for the team Ovie skates for, no doubt!!

If it is anything like it is here in Vancouver, it'll be a huge waste of taxpayer's money, with only the developers and large corporations prospering. Yeah, let's spend a few hundred million on a skating rink so we can host a 2.5 week party.
