Are The Caps Going To Shop Their First Round Pick?

According to The Score, "There are whispers that the Washington Capitals, who own the No. 5 overall selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, will try to peddle the pick in order to acquire immediate help. There is also talk out of D.C. that defenseman Steve Eminger will be packaged with the first rounder in order to seal the deal."

Nothing too surprising there - just some more speculation on that which has already been speculated upon.

On a mostly-unrelated note (though his name is mentioned in that Score link), would Aleksey Morozov be a good fit as a first-line right wing in D.C.?

H/t to Spector on the link.

Kudos to Zubie (from Sabre Rattling site):

Zubrus might have been the best skater on both sides. It was his best game as a Sabre.

ANOTHER Pittsburgh reject coming to Washington? You'd think we'd know better than that by now. *grins*

1) That the caps would shop the pick OR package it with a player(Eminger) is NOT a revelation
2) Most Cap fans wouldn't mind such a strategy as long as the 'package' brings back enough quality to warrant such a move.
3) The team has enough holes that virtually any player (other than a left wing) would help. Ideally they need 2 decent forwards(a REAL center!) and one vet d-man to compete for the playoffs next year
