Sanjay Kumar, a former owner of the New York Islanders who bought the team along with
Charles Wang back in 2000, was
sentenced today to twelve years in prison for obstructing justice and securities fraud stemming from a $400 million accounting fraud scandal.
On the plus side, when he gets out he'll still be able to catch the final three years of
Rick DiPietro's career as an Islander.
