In a minor move, the Caps have picked up forward Rico Fata off waivers from Atlanta.
Fata, "is one of the fastest hockey players currently toiling in the pro game... [He] can burn defensemen with his skating ability [and] has a sturdy frame to handle traffic and can line up anywhere up front," but "lacks hockey sense, which prevents him from making it big in the NHL," and "needs to learn how to play at different speeds. [He] doesn't have enough confidence in his offensive ability."
Basically, he's a fourth-liner with some upside, though the four NHL organizations he's been with in his career thus far may disagree.
